Hello there, thanks for visiting my portfolio, aka my creative mind space :)

I am Liz Yau, a freshly baked UX designer, who has graduated with distinction (cum laude) in July 2023.

As part of my graduation, I completed an enriching internship at The Valley, a customer experience (CX) agency in Amsterdam. This internship allowed me to explore the role of voice user interfaces in B2C ecommerce sector. This was an incredible chance for me to learn about the future direction of digital communication.

My approach to life and work mirrors my personality, a delightful blend of extroverted and introverted traits. I genuinely relish the energy of social engagements where ideas are shared and connections are formed. However, I value my solitary moments just as much, using them to unwind, introspect, and recharge my creative energy. A fun quirk that you might appreciate is my love for word puns. They say puns are the highest form of literature - and who am I to argue with Alfred Hitchcock? :)

While I'm fully immersed in the UX field and constantly engaged with the digital world, I also hold a deep-seated fascination for antiques and vintage items. The allure of uncovering stories from the past, embedded within these timeless pieces, is irresistibly captivating.

Before finding my calling in UX, my journey encompassed a diverse range of fields, including sales, print media, and music teaching. I see myself as an adventurous individual, not afraid to take a leap into the unknown. This mindset has granted me an array of experiences that have broadened my perspective, fostered valuable interactions with people from various backgrounds, and most importantly, shaped who I am today. These experiences have also led me to my current position, further fueling my passion for UX design.
